The A5 is built for situations where the quality of the analog-to-digital stage matters more than adding another software layer.
The A5 converts analog audio directly to S/PDIF and operates as a completely standalone piece of hardware. There are no drivers to install and no host computer required.
It can be used as a dedicated capture front end for analog sources, an alternative to the converter built into an existing interface or recorder, or as a precision ADC for bench and measurement work.
